I was delighted when I became a grandparent some two years ago. Like parents, grandparents come in all different types and I’m one of those grandparents who’ll end up on the floor with the children, playing too.
My career was in teaching and Early Years Education and the arrival of a grandchild found me reaching back through my knowledge and understanding as she has grown and developed. The idea for this blog came from the rest of the family, to encourage me to share experiences and play ideas, some of my crafting successes, and not so successful ideas, and all the rest that comes with being a grandparent.
Many of my posts are based on the seven areas that make up the UK statutory framework or the early years foundation stage – the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five.
I live in East Anglia and my husband works for Learning Resources.
