Happy World Book Day 2021!

Today is World Book Day!

For this year’s edition, my granddaughter Daisy is wearing a homemade outfit and is dressed as a character from one of her many favourite books: the Ladybird from the wonderful What the Ladybird Heard series of books by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks!

There are some excellent activities to explore on the Usborne Publishing site; meanwhile on the official World Book Day site there are plenty of nursery and pre-school resources, with other links to some favourite characters, authors and illustrators. Do check out the ‘Share a Story Corner’ with videos to share together and some follow-up activities to accompany the stories.

There’s also a new section of free audiobooks to share in ‘World of Stories’ with a selection to suit different ages and these are available to enjoy now.

I hope you all have a chance to celebrate the joy of reading and storytelling today!
